Basics of Web Design:

Designing a website may be very easy but designing a standard website is a bit tough. A lot of aspects have to be taken care of while designing websites. Who are the target audience? This is the first question which need to taken care of. The target audience for a Toy company will obviously be different form the target audience of the company which manufactures Sport items. Designers need to come up with the different ideas in order to find a new concept for each business.

How websites influence its target audience?

The ultimate motive of any business is to satisfy its target audience by providing them the all relevant content which they are looking for. Simplicity should be maintained because this is what people look now a day. No body would like to visit those websites which are more complex in use. Good graphics, eye soothing colour, easy functionality and relevant content should be focused.

Good Graphics:

Good graphics means more attraction. Sites having good graphics will always be the first to attract the visitors. This is as important as the content. It’s better to ask a question to yourself that what do you see first when you visit any site? The answer would be the graphics because this is the first thing which attracts you. You can add more colour and attractive design to magnify the professional look. Using graphics just to make a site look good is not sufficient. There has to be need for it. Over or unnecessarily using graphics will only make the site look amateur. The position of the graphics is also plays important role. It would be unnecessary to put a graphic which has no meaning or has no importance in the website.

Colour:

Choosing colour for the website depends on the target audience. If the website is targeting children than the designer must use vibrant colours like red, yellow and for the corporate website it has to be sober colour like blue, grey etc.

Logo:

Logo defines the business. It has to be attractive enough to leave the impact on the viewers mind. As we can realise that we can remember most of the company by their logo. Logo is the only thing in the website which remains in the minds of the viewers even if they leave the site.

Navigation Buttons:

The ease to navigate the site is possible only through the navigation buttons. These buttons should be placed properly for the convenience of the user. It should be visible and functioning.

Imagination:

Every designer should have good imagination power. Designer job is creative job. Same kind of structure all the times will make viewers bored and frustrated. It has to be different design all the times to yield better result.

Functionality:

Functionality is the most important thing after graphics. It would not be good for the users if they have to apply more brain to understand the functionality in order to use the website. We will have to understand that most of the users are not technical person so definitely they will be facing problems. So the best idea is to design the functionality in more easy way so that the normal user can understand.

Content:

Content is the most important part of the website. No matter how good your design is unless it has no content it’s worthless. This is something which makes the viewer bound to come to your site because it’s useful to them. Good designed websites makes the viewer stick to your site for the first time but to make them the regular visitor it should have good content in it.

Cross Browser validation:

This is one of the features of the good website. Different types of the browsers are used in the different types of the world. So the compatibility with the different browsers is necessary. Before making the sites live the compatibility with the popular browsers like Fire Fox, Internet Explorer. Opera should be checked.
